There are only four main things to consider when choosing the correct chimney cap:

Size, shape, type, and metal. If you follow these simple steps you should have no problem choosing the correct chimney cap for your home.

The first thing to consider is the shape of the cap. You need to find the flue in your chimney and determine what shape it is, usually round, square, or rectangular. There will be a rectangular arrangement in chimneys that have more than one flue. If you have a rectangular flue, or multiple flues, you know you will need a rectangular chimney cap.
